Meet Zakiya
For over a decade, I worked as a Physician Assistant, helping patients manage chronic conditions and navigate complex health systems. Yet over time, I grew increasingly frustrated by the limitations of traditional medicine. Prescriptions and procedures often offered temporary relief but rarely addressed the root causes of imbalance and disease. I saw how many women, especially in midlife, were left without clear answers or support for the changes happening in their bodies.
That realization led me to health coaching. I wanted to create a space where women could feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to take charge of their own health through education, personalized guidance, and sustainable lifestyle change. My mission is to demystify perimenopause and menopause by helping women understand what’s happening in their bodies and how to work with those changes, not against them.
As a certified health coach and plant-based nutrition specialist, I blend evidence-based science with compassionate, culturally informed care. I help women navigate hormonal transitions with confidence, through focus on nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and mindset. My approach is rooted in practicality and progress, not perfection, helping women build habits that restore energy, balance hormones, and reignite joy in daily life.
Ultimately, I believe true wellness isn’t found in a prescription, it’s created in the choices we make every day. My goal is to walk alongside each woman I work with as she reclaims her health, her power, and her peace.

I am on this journey too...
After the birth of my youngest, at age 39.5, I had an incredibly difficult time getting back to my baseline and feeling like myself again. I had trouble losing the baby weight despite working out consistently and eating a mostly whole-food plant-based diet. But I kept doing the same things I had always been doing because they worked in the past, right? Fast-forward a few years and I was struggling; mentally and physically. I was EXHAUSTED. I chalked it up to having 3 young kids, a stressful job, a father battling brain cancer, and aging. I was having more trouble sleeping despite the fact that I was often so tired that it hurt. I felt more anxious and stressed than I ever had before. Yes, I had a lot on my plate, but I NEVER considered that my hormones might be changing. I considered myself way too young for all of that. BUT as I was searching for answers (really, I was just trying to feel better) I realized THIS IS ME! I was experiencing common perimenopause symptoms, and I did not know how to address them. My training did NOT prepare me for this! So, I began to educate myself and the more I learned the more indignant I grew. Why don't we talk about this? Why aren't women being taught how to care for their changing bodies? And why aren't there more studies about this and what works in this phase of life? This gap in knowledge and education results in women suffering without the knowledge to make lifestyle changes that work WITH their hormonal changes. My mission became clear. That I would be a voice to advocate, educate, support and help women like me. Women like YOU. It is possible to navigate perimenopause with confidence, understanding, power, and grace but it does take a PLAN.
